Homebuyers
USDA Section 502 direct and guaranteed loans help rural households buy with little or no down payment. A HUD-approved housing counselor can walk you through it.
Home repair
Section 504 loans and grants fund health and safety repairs for very-low-income rural homeowners, including seniors.
Sweat equity
Self-Help Housing programs let groups of families build each other's homes, cutting costs substantially. Local sponsors operate in most states.
